Legalisation of government documents issued in Singapore for use in Vietnam

The documents referred to include, for e.g. - Registry of Marriage Certificates, Birth Certificates and Educational Certificates from local government schools will be directly legalized by Singapore Ministry of  Foreign Affairs (MFA).

However, computer generated documents e.g. Registrar of Marriage Search, Certificate of Making Decree Nisi Absolute, Adoption Petition, Business Profile from ACRA etc, must be certified by the issuing department first before presenting to Singapore MFA for legalisation.

Original certified hardcopy of the search result for marriage records issued by the Registry of Marriage can also be presented to Singapore MFA for legalisation. (Note: this does not refer to the print-screen image of result generated through free online search services for marriage records)
For legalization of true copies, please present the photocopy together with the original document for verification.

As such, the process to legalize government documents issued in Singapore for use in Vietnam, please note the following steps:

Step 1:  Legalized by Singapore MFA

You have the document legalized at the Consular Service Counter, Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Opening Hours: Mondays to Fridays: 9.00 am to 4.30 pm (lunch hours inclusive)
                             Saturdays: 9.00 am to 12.30 pm
(Note: Please bring along the original copy of the documents. Fees Chargeable at MFA - S$10/- for each legalisation of document, payable by Nets or Cashcard.)

Step 2: Certified by Embassy of the Vietnam in Singapore

You have the document legalised at the Embassy of the Vietnam in Singapore

Step 3: Translation into Vietnamese language (if any)

You have the document translated into Vietnamese language at the competent translation offices in Vietnam for use in Vietnam.
