Vietnam import procedures of dog food products is conducted in accordance with Circular 66 dated 10 October 2011 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam.

Vietnam import procedures of dog food products

For the import of dog food products which is permitted for sale in Vietnam, the importing organizations and individuals must carry out procedures at the customs agency and conduct a quality inspection as stipulated in Chapter III of Circular 66.

For the import of dog food products that are not yet permitted for sale in Vietnam, the decision to permit the sale of the animal feed in Vietnam must be obtained from the Department of Livestock Production and the quality inspection must be conducted in accordance with Chapter III of Circular 66.

1. The application dossier for Vietnam permission for quality of imported dog food products includes:

 a. An application for recognition of quality of imported animal feed (Standard Forms).
 b. Certificate of Free Sale for imported animal feed which is issued by a competent agency of the country of origin (the original or certified true copy of the original + Vietnamese translation copy certified by importing Company).
 c. Quality Certification for manufacturer: ISO or GMP or HACCP or other equivalent certificate (scanned copy) + Vietnamese translation copy of the importing Company.
 d. Certificate of analysis (CA): original copy + Vietnamese translation copy confirmed by the importing Company.
 e. Product label: original copy + Vietnamese translation copy confirmed by the importing Company.
 f. Applied standards of organizations, individuals who request for permission for quality; product’s sub-label written in Vietnamese in accordance with regulations.
 g. Authenticated copy of the Certificate of Business Registration or Investment Certificate of the organizations, individuals who request permission for quality (submitted only once).
 h. Power of attorney by the manufacturer to the importing company for registration.
 i. Other information about the product: name of raw materials, product quality and hygiene safety norms of animal feed, and uses and instructions for use, manufacturing process ... (if any).

2. Processing time: 03 days from the receipt date of a valid application.
