The Vietnamese are working, studying or residing abroad, may go directly to the Vietnamese Embassy to sign the power of attorney before a Consular Officer for settlement of the civil matters in Vietnam.
Authentication of the power of attorney at Vietnamese Embassy
The requester for authentication of power of attorney at Vietnamese embassy shall present the written request and the following documents:
1. Power of attorney: The requester for authentication of power of attorney at Vietnamese Embassy can use the standard form of power of attorney requied by competent authority in Vietnam (if any), or model power of attorney at Vietnamese Embassy for reference. Our law office can draft this power of attorney for you as requested.
2. Papers relating to the content of the authorization (a copy certified by the competent authorities in Vietnam).
3. Copy of the Principal’s passport or equivalent documents.
4. Copy of identity card or family book of the Agent in Vietnam.
Notes:
1. Making one more copy of the above documents to be kept at the Embassy Office.
2. Passport of the Principal may be a foreign passport (page with photo and signature), Green Card and driving license (if Vietnamese resides in the United States), Vietnamese passport (page 1 to page 4)
3. In case that the Principal can not present at the Embassy office, he/she may sent by mail as instructed by the Embassy.
